Pipeline Flooding

RUTH’RFORD can flood (or fill) pipelines of any diameter from 2 in. to over 56 in. over distances of hundreds of kilometers. Our filtration and chemical injection systems have the capability and flexibility to meet your project’s most demanding requirements for water quality and treatment.

Pipeline Gauging

Proving a pipeline has not been buckled, dented or otherwise damaged during construction activities requires passage of a gauging tool through the pipeline. RUTH’RFORD provides gauging tools to meet your most demanding project specifications.

Hydrostatic Testing

RUTH’RFORD provides controlled pressurization and monitoring of testing operations using equipment supplied from our fleet of specialized pumping equipment. Pipeline test pressure is typically held for a period of 8 to 24 hr with calibrated instrumentation recording both pressure and temperature throughout the test period

Umbilical Testing and Commissioning

The flushing, cleaning, hydraulic testing and electrical testing of all subsea control umbilicals is completed to a high degree of cleanliness in a safe and efficient manner.

SPU™ Subsea Pigging Unit

The SPU subsea pigging unit is the proven technology used to flood newly laid pipelines in water depths from 5 to 5,000 meters (16 to 16,400 ft.)

The SPU device filters, chemically doses, controls the flow and monitors the flooding/pigging operations without the need for an attendant vessel. This can radically improve the flexibility of project vessel usage during precommissioning activities.

Nitrogen Purging Services

RUTH’RFORD undertakes Nitrogen purging jobs. Nitrogen purging is a pipeline technique for the replacement the air inside the pipe to prevent any damages which might happen, such as fire or explode when the oil or natural gas being flow into the system pipeline. It is often used in the Oil industry as a precursor to nitrogen blanketing or as a standalone process.

Safety is at a premium in any environment where hydrocarbons are present. RUTH’RFORD’s nitrogen purging and subsequent nitrogen/helium leak testing helps plant operators’ complete critical tasks during startup operations and maintenance-related shutdowns.
